VZones

Needed: CreditCard, unknown
Looks cool, has a free trial, couldn’t check it out because you need a credit card. If somebody wants to give me access to an account or review it, that’s be peachy keen.

Mokitown
www.mobilekids.net
Needed: Shockwave
Though aimed at younger kids, the graphics caught my eye and I had to try it. It seems to give you a good number of things for avatars, which is cool. You can earn currency and purchase more wardrobe items and hair dews. Also you can buy bikes, skateboards and scooters, so that’s cool.

Dubit
http://www.dubit.co.uk
Needed: Shockwave
Great site. It lets you create an avatar and such with decent creative points (I guess) but really doesn’t have that ‘je ne sais pas’ so I can’t really give it a great review. Sorry Dubit.

HabboHotel
http://www.hobo.com , http://www.hobo.ca , http://www.hobohotel.co.uk
Needed: Shockwave
Ahh the famous Habbo, how I hate you so. This has great pixel art graphics, the navigation is great, the people are annoying and it’s addicting as hell. You have to purchase (with real money) credits to buy furniture, which you can then create your own hotel rooms. Great selection of what you can buy. You can purchase a membership (hobo club) which entitles you to more avatar options and you recieve a free piece of furniture for each month subscribed. It’s highly addicting, like crack. Only difference is that this is legal.

Playdo
www.playdo.com
Needed: Shockwave
I love this place, I really do. It may seem that it lacks in graphic skills, but it makes up in amuzement. The avatar options are great and it includes small games to play. I love it, I can’t complain. However, the site wasn’t working correctly when I wrote this review.

TowerChat
http://www.towerchat.co.uk/
Needed: Shockwave
Do I really have to review this? Drats. Ok, well you can’t customize your avatar, it’s really not that virtual, you’re just moving a picture on different backgrounds. To customize anything, you have to pay $10. By the way that I was the only one only, the service must be raking in the money.

Moove
http://www.moove.com/
Needed: Download
Whoo hoo, Moove! Now this place I love. You can create uber avatars, with tons of options. If they don’t have the article you want, you can attempt to create it with the developer tools. You can customize your own room, visit other ones, whatever, no extra cost. Also, there is webcam and voice options, can you beat that? However, there is a 14 day free trial of the premium service, then you just have normal, I’m not sure of the difference.

Looks cool, haven’t bothered to download it yet, I will later and update it with a review.

VirtualIbiza
http://www.virtualibiza.com
Needed: Shockwave
This is cool. Though you only have a choice between 20 avatars(in and out of bathing suit) it just looks cool. And it has webcam and voice features, which I love.

Aeropostale (Aero House)
http://www.aeropostale.com
Needed: Shockwave
This was cool, you could take stuff from the actual aeropostal catalogue and wear it. You could also create rooms and everything, visit public, you name it, it had it. For some reason, it’s down at the moment, but we can hope for the best.

I’m not sure what to say about this, but I like it. It’s just so random. Check it out.

Krycon Paintchat
http://www.kyucon.com/sw3d/chat/paintchat.htm
Needed: Shockwave
As it says, it’s a chat where you can paint with the people you’re chatting to. Not exactly virtual, but still cool. Though it’s in Japanese, it’s fun and simple to understand.

Penguin Chat (Version A)
http://www.penguinchat.com
Needed: Shockwave
It’s ok. You get to choose from 6 different penguin avatars and waddle around and chat.
Rating: 4.5/10

Penguin Chat (Version B)
http://www.rocketsnail.com/chat/penguin/chat.htm
Needed: Shockwave
Now this one I like. You are only 1 penguin, but you can actually do stuff. For instance, dance and a throw snowballs.

Maid Marian
http://www.maidmarian.com
Needed: Shockwave
Now there are 3 parts to this; Sherwood, Marian’s World and Moon Base.
Sherwood you get to pick what color knight you want and go around swinging your sword around. Marian’s World you get to pick the color of your chick and the color car, and drive it around with other people with no goal, but it’s amuzing. Moon Base is like Marian’s world, but you’re an spaceman. You can adjust the gravity and drive some moon buggy thing, so it’s cool. All 3 of these have great graphics.
Rating Sherewood: 5/10
Rating Marian’s World: 8.5/10
Rating Moon Base: 6.5/10

Atomicborder
http://www.atomicboarder.com
This is pretty cool. The graphics are snazy, they’re clean, there is tons of places to go and it seems to run on XHTML. It’s very cool. Definitly check this one out.
