Dilbert: Holiday
Since today is a holiday as far as not having to work goes (haha, work), I provide a link to the ‘Holiday’ episode of Dilbert. Happy Dogbert Day!
Dilbert: Holiday
Movie: The Game Plan (Review)
Title: The Game Plan
Genre: Family, Comedy
I found myself laughing throughout the movie, but come the end of it I can’t really remember why or at what parts. Oh well, it’s those forgotten moments that got me to the next moment to forget or I would have turned it off. I’ve noticed in the past that “The Rock” has been a pretty stale actor, leaning mainly on egotistical roles and this follows that suit. However this was a little lighter than some of his other roles, and I was impressed by his ability to not suck (as he has in most of the other films he’s appeared in).
The plot wasn’t that bad: An egotistical football player finds out he has a daughter, she stays with him and turns his world upside down. I was expecting to watch a lot of green screen moments with the rock running around pretending he wasn’t old and out of shape, but they actually focused on the story and didn’t show any real football action until the end of the movie. It’s quite a step up to have a story in a sports-based movie, I’ll give the creators kudos on that one. I did get a feeling that it was similar to The Pacifier, but I think this happening to a football player is a little more likely than a Navy SEAL becoming a nanny.
Overall it was worth watching, but not really worth watching in theaters. It would have been better as a straight-to-DVD movie instead. That said, wait until it comes out on DVD to go see it unless you’re a die hard Rock fan.
Final: 6/10
