• Review: Fan Boys [Movie]

  Movie: Fan Boys (2008)
  Genre: Comedy

  Bored one night, I was surfing around looking for something good to watch and stumbled upon Fan Boys. This movie freaking a hilarious and I have no idea why. I also haven’t the faintest clue how I managed to miss this movie for over a year, it’s something I can see myself watching.

  Short form summary is that 4 star wars fan boys / high school friends decide to take a road trip to the Skywalker Ranch to steal Star Wars: Episode 1 before it gets released in theaters. They do stupid shit along the way. This movie falls in the same category as Super Bad, Eurotrip, American Pie and anything good made by Kevin Smith: It’s funny just because it’s genuinely dumb and unrealistic, but you can see one of your friends doing it. A little spoiler for you all, Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes make a short cameo in it. That should be reason enough to go see it.

  I don’t want to recap too much of this movie, as the plot line itself is pretty standard. Instead, I’m going to just give some point forms that I found awesome, which do include spoilers.

  • The have a van with an R2D2 head on it, a light speed button and the Leia/Han painting on the side.

  • They make fun of Jar Jar Binks
  • Comment on naming their hands Princess Leia.
  • Constantly make fun of Trekkies.
  • Rush is one of the greatest bands of all time.
  • William Shatner mother fucker!

  This movie was great, but could have been better. I’ve watched it 3 times, and I think I’m done.
  Final Rating: 7.5/10

• US Department of Justice hates penguins

  I might not be up to date on international rules and regulations, but isn’t this kind of treatment prohibited by the Geneva Conventions?

  sk0t was informed by his Probation Officer that he has to have special software installed on his PC so that the government can monitor his online activities. However, what is a more bitter pill to swallow for him is that the monitoring software is Windows only and as sk0t is an Ubuntu user, the Justice Department is forcing him to switch operating systems.

  

  I’d honestly hate to be this guy. Though the fact that he got charged for uploading Star Wars: Episode III he had it coming. Who in their right mind would want to make other people watch such a horrible movie? I might still have windows installed out of laziness (and that my burner won’t work to burn off Ubuntu), but to force somebody to use windows is just cruel. They should just castrate him and put him out to pasture instead, it will have the same effect.

  Get your mind out of the gutter! I was baited into buying an Xbox today/yesterday. I had the overwhelming urge to play Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II. So I went out and bought the system. Yeah, I do that. In fact, that’s where I’m going to go now! So enjoy a ton of links, they’re funny and awesome and…well mostly funny. <3 Wimp.com.

  Now if you read yesterday’s post, you’ll know that I mentioned the Star Wars Squatter. Now thanks to an update on BoingBoing, it appears that he has a blog! Yes, the Star Wars Stalker has a blog. Check it out HERE. It’s actually not too bad.

  So by now I’m sure that everybody has heard that Ashlee Simpson is a fraud. She’s been caught lip syncing not once, but twice. First, she was caught on SNL(x), then again at the Orange Bowl. So now ‘somebody’ by the name of Mandyc19 has been spamming mulitple forums with identical messages saying “I just read about Ashlee in us weekly. Those guys at the football game were total jerks”. Seems to me like somebody doesn’t like their clients to have bad press.

  Ok, here is another interesting link, check out ArtPad. This is simply a virtual canvas for the artisticly gifted (or artisticly retarded in my case). It’s fun to draw stuff at random, and you can send it to friends, or simply yourself, and it will give you an address. It’s fun not having any talent. Check out my effortless shirt ninja.

  Now, as for anything else, I have nothing. However, if anybody happens to run across anything interesting, feel more then free to send me it. And on that note, I’m thinking of creating almost like a community blog if I can gather some interested parties; anybody interested?

  I don’t have much to say today, so I’ll give you, my loyal fan, a list of some interesting links.

  So here is a story for you. Artist Jeff Tweiten decided that he was going to wait on a street corner for the opening of the next Star Wars flick. That’s normal, but guess when it’s coming out: May 19th! Yes, he was planning on waiting that long for the movie. However, he was removed from his position because of a single complaint.   Think your soap is the best soap going? Think again. The people over at FetoSoap have created soap with razor blades in them. Yes, REAL razor blades. If you can’t wash it away, might as well just remove your skin; that’ll solve the problem. Razor Blade Soap.
