Blogging: It’s what’s for dinner.
So, I was doing my daily research of news, and I found some interesting stuff today. I read an article on political blogging, though it wasn’t extreamely interesting. Then I read an article about how blogging is becoming easier to do with things such as blogger and Movable Type. So that linked me to looking at Movable Type’s website, in which they were taking applications for the 3.0 Beta starting next week. So of course, I had to sign up for it, as I’m a beta fanatic. It could be the beta testing for a Barbie chatroom and I’d sign up if it had barbie in it. Wait, I mean if it had beta in it.
So then I came across a very interesting article about how blogging should be considered when thinking about journalism and stuff. It’s very interesting, I’d recommend everybody read the article. I can honestly say, that it is one the highest quality article that I’ve read in a long time relating to blogs. OJR Article.
One of the people that was talked about in the article was Kaye Trammell. She wrote up a doctorate about blogging, therefore earned the title “Doctor of Blogs”. It’s quite fasinating yes, I can’t think of another word besides fasinating at the moment. Anybody who can live a life dedicated to something as interesting as blogs earns the title of “Hero” in my book. Check out her Blog Here
So within that article, it refers to people who study blogs and the reaction to blogs, and the time that people blog, and statistics of blogs, etc; as blogologists. Well, I’ve been hooked on blogs for more then a year now. I don’t mean just blogging, I mean I’ve done research on blogs on my own, just to see what is there. I’m even signed up for the Google News Alerts with the word “Blog” in it. If that’s not a bit obsessive, then please, tell me what it is.
Due to this, I think that I should become a Blogologist. How, I’m not sure, but i think that it’s something that I would enjoy. I enjoy reading about people, I enjoy knowing what people think, I like knowing the common actions of people, the study of people in general fasinates me. So why not look in to this when I can combine these with one of my favourite things, the internet. Seems like an obvious thing to me.
Oh, and for the hell of throwing this in, Blog Sensus is a pretty cool, gives you some stats to check out about blogs.
Blog Marathon *Idea V.0.1*
OK, so I was reading some stuff here just now and it got me thinking, and I that is rare thing as of lately. So here is the idea:
Most of you have probabally heard of the 38 hour famine. Basically what it is, is that you don’t sleep or eat (just drink liquids) for 38 hours. You usually do this in a group of people, as an organized event. Why do you do this? Well you get sponsors to pay a certain amount for each hour that you do it. All money earned goes to starving kids in 3rd-world countries.
Well here is my Geek-ersized idea of it: The rules still apply that you cannot eat or sleep. However, this one you will sit at your computer the whole time. Here you will post in your blog every 30 minutes (to verify how awake you are) and you will have a webcam on (verification that you don’t eat). This will happen for 38 hours.
Now, I’m not really sure why it is that we would do this, but it wouldn’t be for starving kids in 3rd-world countries (well I guess it could be). I was thinking along the lines of raising money for poorer schools or something to bring technology to kids who can’t afford it.
I think that’s about it on my idea here. Any and All comments and ideas are welcome. Let me rephrase that: “Please give me some ideas on this!” That’s better. OK, that is it for now.
Final Resting Place
Odd how I started a journal here, moved to blog, came back, went to movable type, and came back here again. A good spot this is, as those unwanted who force me to remove my blogs don’t know it exists.

Told Ya
I said that I would forget to update both my blog and here. So I’m going to make this post here and only here, just for you LJ’ers.
I’m back to habbo. Jd_wig is back, I’m bored, and I want a g’damn badge. OK, I really don’t want a badge because I’ll end up banning myself, but I am back. Though I bet none of you care about this, since you all have moved on and evolved past the point that I am in. And for all of you who I lost contact with because I quit habbo and posting on here, I hope to speak to you more over the coming period of time. To those who I have done something to annoy you, piss you off otherwise; I’m sincerly sorry for anything that I’ve done in the past and I hope we can rekindle our friendship.
Now that I’ve sounded pathetic, that is all.
Bands that suck
Today was the first day back to school after the break, it sucked; not because something bad happened, but because it’s school in general. I have to write a test tomarrow at noon, which means no lunch, that does suck, but oh well.
I have nothing else interesting to talk about today, so I’m going to talk about, as the title says, bands that suck.
First off is Metallica. I hate Metallica because: A) They are uptight pricks who are only in the music industry for money, as was demonstrated with the first run of Napster. B) They don’t have an lyrics that appeal to me. Though I really am pissed about the Napster thing, I was an origional Napster junkie.
Second on my list: Insane Clown Posse. If these guys were simply a band doing what they do, that would be fine, but they keep talking about how ‘Independant’ they are. I’m sorry but going into WCW wrestling for 6 months doesn’t make you independant, it makes you a tool looking for publicity. Not only that, but they have been signed with multiple big named record lables, if they were truely independant they would have signed with smaller lables.
Finally, Nirvana will end this post. Everybody seems to think they’re “the greatest band ever”, but why? The tunes to their songs are the same power cords repeating, the lyrics are foolish and they can’t sing; they just scream.
So yeah, that’s all I have to say at this moment about bands who suck and my boring life. That is all.

Sleeping = Bad
I’ve been sleeping too much lately. I end up waking up and falling back asleep every hour between midnight and 6am, but then sleep until 2 in the afternoon. I really sucks because by the time I get up and get ready to go out everything is either closed or I just don’t feel like doing anything. I blame it on….I don’t know, but I’m sure there is something there.
As I stated in my previous LiveJournal post, I will be posting in both my blog and on my LiveJournal. So feel free to read it anywhere you feel more comfortable.
What else is new? Oh, I got the Nintendo 64 out since I don’t have my Gamecube right now. Perfect Dark is still the best first-person shooter ever. They should make another game for the gamecube based on Perfect Dark, however it won’t be done since Rare moved over to X-Box. Stupid Rare.
